About the department

The ‘Finance Department’ in the Panchayat Samiti is the main department that handles financial matters. This department is headed by an Assistant Accounts Officer, who, under the guidance of the Group Development Officer, examines scheme proposals, manages funds and prepares financial reports.

Main functions

Financial Proposal Scrutiny:
Scrutinizing and providing feedback on financial and accounting proposals related to various development schemes.

Preparation of Budget:
Preparation of budget of Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti for self-funding and government schemes as per Maharashtra Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti Act 1961.

Fund Management:
Maintaining a balance between the use of grants received from the government and the expenditure incurred.

Report Preparation:
Preparing financial and accounting reports and submitting them to senior officials.
